With the afternoon sight-seeing and the traffic we did not have much time to enjoy the hotel’s amenities. The dinner at the hotel was excellent and gave us a chance to get to know our guide. The first day at altitude is critical and there was too much scheduled for the afternoon and evening. By the time we got the Museo de Arte, all of us were really tired. The food at the museum was excellent.
We were taken care of the whole time so it was okay. The Picoaga Hotel was perfectly located in Cuzco. He would stop the car for us to take %url% photos and would let us hike on our own for hours at various sites. He gave us good shopping tips and inquired about prices for us.
Waiters in dining room trained to the tee and could run rings around others in even ‘good’ restaurants. Our accommodation was more than comfortable – I heard no compalints from anyone. Our bums (i.e. bottoms for you yanks) did get a bit ‘sat on’ after a few hours in the canoes, but would do it all again tomorrow.
Very Good Local Food
This was the PERFECT experience to share. I have told this to ALL my friends ALAX PACHA Copacabana who have children at these ages. It is the ultimate bonding experience.

When the Miraflores charged us for my room service dinner the night John was ill, she went to bat and got us a refund. Just when we thought nothing could be more spectacular in Argentina, we arrived at the Cavas Wine Lodge in Mendoza.
I will send you a couple of photos, so you can see what we look like! Please let me know what else I can provide. The trip was almost sensory overload and it just now is sinking in HOW MUCH we really saw, did, experienced. And, https://coinbreakingnews.info/ the most special part of the trip has to be the time our family spent together just talking, laughing, teasing, challenging one another. Our children are 17 and 19 not too many more years where just the 4 of us can be together.
We will definitely make a return trip the Vieques Island in the near future. Thanks to you, Abe and everyone else, we had a great time. The public spaces were lovely; the rooms were spacious but bathrooms a little small. I gather that it’s a little unusual for tourists to stay in the historic district. I really liked being able to explore a bit without a guide during our siesta .
Not a complaint, just something to note and it will probably change if more tourists stay in the area, but there aren’t many shops that cater to upscale tastes in that area. It’s probably something just to be aware of. I just wanted to let you know how much Harold and I enjoyed our trip to Peru! It is a beautiful country and the people are extremely nice.
- So the first day in Cusco I spent entirely in bed.
- The trip was truly wonderful, Martin, and I fear you’ve spoiled us forever.
- Our guide was able to change our schedule so that I didn’t miss a thing.
- He refused to let that deter him and we went into the ruins that afternoon and again at night.
- My discomfort was caused, I believe, by the altitude.
- I’ll give a full report later this week.
Carmen in the north was wonderful, and we have to single out Juan Carlos in Cuzco/Macchu Picchu and Ofelia in Lima for special praise as well. I hope you will pass along these comments to them.
Peru
When I was researching our trip, all the guides I read recommended getting dropped off at the north side of the island and hiking across the island to the south side. So I decided that’s what I wanted to do too. But when we ALAX PACHA Copacabana were there , the north side of the island was closed to tourists, so we could only go to the south side. I’d heard so many great things about the hike, and I wasn’t sure if there would be anything to do on the south side.
She was sort of average overall — not bad, just not quite up to the standards of the rest of the trip. The uniform excellence of the guides was the outstanding feature of our three weeks in Peru.
I was picked up at my friend’s house in plenty of time to make my flight to the Galapagos — the tour guide who picked me up, Gina, was very informative on the way to the airport. She turned ALAX PACHA Copacabana me over to a fellow representative at the airport, who took care of checking in my bag and making sure I got to security in no time at all! Thank you for your inquiry about our trip to Peru.
Food & Drink
The days were happily exhausting; the scenery was beyond imagination; the food and service were unbelievable; the tents, sleeping bags, equipment was top drawer. Rated No. ALAX PACHA Copacabana 1 of all our dining, by Mary and I. An event neither Mary or I can believe happened. We are both used to airlines co-flying with different companies/flight numbers etc.
The altitude in Cuzco also has to be considered — I had no problem with it, but certainly it is wise to take the first day there slowly. Weather was absolutely perfect every day until the last when there was some rain in the afternoon. I like the heat and humidity, which for some reason never felt oppressive. They knew what they were doing, the itinerary was so well planned and inclusive, so luxurious to have one’s own personal guide and clean car at one’s disposal.
One evening they built a fire for us and served us a delicious steak dinner on the rooftop under the full moon. I enjoyed a wine-inspired spa treatment which included soaking in a wine bath — my hands and feet were pink! We toured three great wineries and had a private lunch at one with all sorts of nibbles and wine. Learnt quite a lot about wine at the Cavas, from their wine expert. The staff were extremely attentive, starting with the manager, who greeted us with a glass of wine.
Followed By A Trip
As I said to you earlier, the trip exceeded our expectations in almost every respect. We were particularly impressed ALAX PACHA Copacabana by the logistics — all the pickups were bang on time, and all the people we met were very attentive.
